Dionaea m. "Seed-Grown DC" Seed Pack (12 seeds/pack)

Believe it or not, Damon has grown the same Venus flytraps since he was 12 years old! He's always grown them all together in one bog garden. They are a mix of various clones that he picked up over the years so they do vary, but all of them are tried and true. This is your chance to own a little piece of California Carnivores history! The initials "DC" only refer to them being grown by Damon and are not meant to represent a specific cultivar.

These are open-pollinated, meaning the plants have been pollinated naturally, without our help, in our substantial botanical collection of select Venus flytrap cultivars. Venus flytraps are temperate plants and will have the best germination rate with a period of cold stratification. They can take many, many months to germinate. Sometimes, they will sprout within days, but taking a few months is more common. We’ve seen them take as long as a year!

I so Happy!

At first I thought I had messed up, it was taking so long to see any type of green I thought I had done something wrong. 6 weeks had passed and still nothing. But I kept them under the grow light and hoping for the best maybe just one maybe two I had bought 24 seeds and I would be happy with just one or two sprouting.

6 and 1/2 Weeks after planting finally some green started to show I so happy!

Probably the end of September isn't the best time to start germinating seeds but who cares it was winter time or about to be winter time and I needed something to occupy some time.

So patience is key just don't give up!
