Dionaea m. ‘Petite Red Dragon’ is an adorable cultivar that stays slightly smaller and blushes all red!

These are open-pollinated, meaning the plants have been pollinated naturally, without our help, in our substantial botanical collection of select Venus flytrap cultivars. Venus flytraps are temperate plants and will have the best germination rate with a period of cold stratification. They can take many, many months to germinate. Sometimes, they will sprout within days, but taking a few months is more common. We’ve seen them take as long as a year!

Recieved but haven't sown yet. Have to wait awhile, but I have faith that they will be just fine 😀

Sprouted in 18 days!

4 of 12 seeds sprouted after 18 days on temp controlled heat mat next to windowsill. Two more have sprouted in the last 4 days for a current 50% germination rate (much higher than I was expecting)- and there's still time left for more to sprout.

So pleased with these seeds- first time germinating VFT seeds (or growing VFT at all, actually) and wasn't sure if any would sprout!
