N. x 'Kohala' (L-SG)

As with all Nepenthes hybrids, this cross is very variable, so it's hard to write a description. Most of them have good color, tending to look like maxima or fusca with nice peristomes. Click on the above photo to see a clone that we kept for the collection; that pitcher is nearly a foot tall! It was done by Sam Estes; N. (kampotiana x maxima) x (fusca x veitchii) is the parentage. These plants are all one of a kind, seed grown in Hawaii. Good plants for the beginner, thanks to their hybrid vigor.
